In the film, Horror is a popular genre some people don’t understand. Scary movies are something you either love to watch or avoid at all costs. Logically, we should be avoiding those things that induce fear. However, horror movies have a way of drawing a lot of people in. It is a little confusing if you stop and think about it, but horror entertainment is a prevalent genre ตำนานสยองขวัญบ้านร้าง.
Why is it that horror movies are very famous in the 13 to 30 age range, even though they’re not optimistic and or joyful in the slightest? Why do people wish to subject themselves to this gloom?
There’s a number of answers to that question, but most solutions are linked to the method we live today. In this developed world, people live in such cushioned and safe environments that many are very unlikely to experience intense emotions like fear or emotional pain in their daily lives. However, people are evolutionarily programmed to deal with scary stimuli, for example, predators, incessantly. To make an outlet for the animalistic side of human beings, horror movies were produced.
According to research and experts, there’re a few different reasons why people like scary movies. Some even find them oddly comforting.
Without any Mastery:
One of the primary reasons some people enjoy horror films is that they are made without any mastery. With a considerable shock factor based on dread-inducing music and gore, the plot is so unbelievable. The props are so cheap and fake that the Movie becomes funny.
It could be therapeutic because it could put forward to a viewer that some of our fears aren’t as real as we imagine them to be or that threats in real life aren’t always as hard to deal with as we first thought. It makes us desensitized to scary things in our reality, teaches people to be less scared. As people learn to be afraid of, fake horror films can teach them to become less fearful of particular objects.
Prepare for the worst:
Horror films give you a glimpse at how life-threatening situations might play out, which can make you feel more prepared for actual danger. Additionally, in terms of being so renowned with a group, someone has seen a famous horror film provides them with a topic to share with others. Group behaviours and experiences are the fundamentals of survival from an evolutionary perspective. If somebody learnt to share and enjoy living with others, they would likely gather more food and be more fulfilled socially.
Some people feel Pleasurable:
Horror films are meant to scare you. But for many people with anxiety, they may find horror films comforting. According to Brownlowe, there is a good reason why. “The experience of your brain relaxing after watching a scary movie is actually neuro-chemically very pleasurable,” she says. “That is because the dopamine release related to the ‘rest-and-digest brain response causes an increased sense of well-being.”
It also feels pleasure to go into an experience that looks risky or scary and then get out safe and OK. As Brownlowe says, “It challenges our beliefs regarding risk. By some means, it can ‘re-set the thermostat’ for people so that things that had seemed frightening may be easier to deal with in the future.” For example, some people may find that after watching an hour-long Halloween scare-fest, it is not as terrifying to ask their boss for a raise, face a budget shortfall, or prepare to give a public speech.
People Like The Feeling When they’re Scared:
Some people react differently to scary things. For example, a 2010 study which was published in the journal Communication Research found that people who like horror films tend to enjoy feeling intense and severe emotions like fear. When you are scared, your brain’s instant response is to go into fight-or-flight mode. When this occurs, your body can react. For example, your muscles may tense, and your heart may race. It can even cause you to cry or jump. “When we watch a horror film, it stimulates the brain, and the brain responds with the emotional and physical sensations we call fear,” Brownlowe says. “Believe it or not, for some people, this is a lot of fun.”
