With conference tournaments currently going on, this is the final chance for some teams to make their mark before the NCAA Tournament begins. Some conferences will have more teams than others, but each conference will have at least one team representing them in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
The Power 5 conferences usually will dominate the tournament field for the most part. March Madness Predictions are not easy to make at this time of year. Who are some of the teams that will represent their respective conferences in the NCAA Tournament?
ACC
The ACC was not a very loaded conference this year. They are most likely going to get either four or five teams into the field at the very most. The ACC is stronger in most seasons, but this is not one of those years.
As of right now, the Duke Blue Devils are the favorites in this conference to win it all at +1000. Duke is currently projected to be a number two seed in the NCAA Tournament. This is Coach K’s final go round in March Madness. They haven’t won it all since 2015.
The North Carolina Tar Heels have +10000 odds to win it all in March. North Carolina does not have the talent to make a deep run into March. They will be most likely the eighth seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Tar Heels did a very nice job in Huebert Davis’s first year with the program after replacing Roy Williams due to retirement.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have +15000 odds to win it all this postseason. Notre Dame will most likely be an 8th, 9th, or 10th seed in the NCAA Tournament. They will most likely win no more than one game.
Other teams projected to make the field: Miami (FL) Hurricanes and Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
PAC-12
The PAC-12 was a top-heavy conference throughout the regular season. They are only going to get three teams into the field of 68 most likely unless someone else becomes a potential bubble stealer.
The UCLA Bruins will most likely be a number four seed in the NCAA Tournament, They have +2800 odds to cut down the nets in March. UCLA was in the final four last year, but it is going to be really tough for them to get back into that spot this year. They are more likely to face a number one seed in the Sweet 16 rather than the Elite 8 this year.
As for the Arizona Wildcats, they are going to be one of the number one seeds in the NCAA Tournament. They have +650 odds to win it all, which is tied for the second-best odds with the Kentucky Wildcats. Only the Gonzaga Bulldogs have better odds to win it all at +450.
The USC Trojans have +8000 odds to win it all. USC will most likely be the sixth seed in the NCAA Tournament. They have the talent to win a couple of games in March Madness, but they don’t have enough punch and juice to potentially get to the Final Four.
Other potential teams that could reach the NCAA Tournament: None.
Other Small Conferences With Odds
The Gonzaga Bulldogs are the favorites to win it all at +450. Gonzaga will be the number one overall seed for the second consecutive season most likely. The Bulldogs will probably try and find a way to win it all for the first time in program history. Gonzaga has all of the talent necessary to do it.
The Colorado State Rams have +10000 odds to win it all this year. They are the best team in the Mountain West Conference. Colorado State has a dynamic backcourt and will probably be a seventh seed or higher in the NCAA Tournament. They are a team that no one wants to face because there is talent on this basketball team.
