The coronavirus crisis in India is at its peak. With record rising cases, the oxygen crisis has arisen from city to city. Outrage has spread throughout the country. The new strain of COVID-19 is to blame. As mentioned, it is quite dangerous, and at the moment, 25% of the lungs are damaged after symptoms of the deadly virus, resulting in trouble breathing.

Blood in your body carries oxygen to all your cells. When you breathe in and take out fresh oxygen to your lungs, the red blood cells bind with oxygen and carry it through your bloodstream. At the cellular level, oxygen helps transform cells, which provide you with energy, support your immune system and more. Therefore it is important to ensure that your blood oxygen level is not too high or too low.

At home, blood oxygen levels can be measured using a small device called a pulse oximeter. It is like a clip that is usually placed on the finger to measure oxygen levels. The oximeter absorbs the oxygen level as it records the amount of light passing through the fingers.

However, in health facilities, the most efficient method is an arterial blood gas (ABG) test, for which the blood sample is taken from an artery, usually from the wrist. 

Your blood oxygen level helps you know how well your heart, lungs and circulatory system work. A typical blood oxygen level for a healthy person is between 95% and 100%. This means that almost all red blood cells are carrying oxygen to your cells and tissues. 

When oxygen relies on tanks as the primary oxygen supplement, a serious risk exists: the body can learn to actively suppress its natural respiratory system. The following is a list of natural ways to improve your oxygen levels which should help reduce your dependence on tanks.

Change your diet

Change in diet is one of the best ways to maintain your oxygen level. The Antioxidants in our body allow us to use oxygen more efficiently for indigestion. To promote antioxidant intake, attention should be paid to foods such as blueberries, cranberries, red kidney beans, artichoke hearts, strawberries, plums, and blackberries, most of which can be consumed in various juices and smoothies. Another important protein to consider is essential fatty acids such as vitamin F, which serve to increase the amount of haemoglobin in the bloodstream. These acids are found in flaxseeds, soybeans, and walnuts.

For decades, plants have been the main source that has been shown to help purify the air inside the house. They remove carbon dioxide and replenish the oxygen levels of a room, providing more oxygen for your body to absorb. The more you help, the more lives will be saved. 

Stay Hydrated

The human body contains about 60 per cent water. It is necessary to drink eight glasses of water a day to get the full benefit of oxygen-rich drinks. Restrict the intake of caffeine drinks, alcohol and high sodium foods, which dehydrate the body. When looking to achieve the full benefits of oxidation, drinking filtered water reconstituted or ionized water is micro-clustered with small clusters of water molecules. It provides high levels of oxidation and hydration at the cellular level. Keep in mind that caffeinated drinks, alcohol and high sodium foods dehydrate the body, so keep water with you during the day and make it a habit to drink it throughout the day.

Proper Breathing

Physical exercise to boost lung strength is also important to maintain respiratory health in addition to breathing exercises. The correct method of breathing properly starts at a slow pace from the diaphragm and from the nose. Breathing exercises like Pranayama can help improve lung health.

Prone Position

This method is tried, tested and scientifically proven. In this method, a person needs to lie down with their chest elevated, a pillow under their neck, one under the chest and two under the calf, and they need to practice rapid breathing.

Quit smoking

After just two weeks of being cigarette-free, many people find that both their circulation and overall oxygen levels improve significantly. In this short time, lung function can increase up to 30%.
